A Better Way

When a child melts down. Aili Pogust, my Brain Gym Instructor had been invited by a principal of a public elementary school where a young student was physically and emotionally out of control.  Aili acted quickly transforming typical Brain Gym exercises into a fun, "Heads, shoulders, knees, and toes" movement. This time, she playfully mimicked the exercise and engaged the child to cross his hands over his body at his head, shoulders, knees, and toes. Unknowingly, he crossed his core, his midline. 

A few tries later, the student became calm and full of laughter rather than hostility. His teacher and other school staff could not believe their eyes.
